    5 wedding trends of 2018

Is 2018 finally going to be the end of barn and farm weddings? Maybe! While these locations have been going strong for years, 2018 is marking the start of a new trend for wedding venues with "industrial looking locations". Revamped factories have an edgy look, big spaces and are like a blank canvas. The ideal feature for all those artistic and creative couples that want to create something more personal and with a twist. We are in love with these!!

Food wise, dessert tables made their appearance in 2017 and are still strong in 2018 too. They offer a more comprehensive choice for your guests (everyone gets something they like), and they make the best centrepiece in the dining room. They also provide the guests with a chance to mingle after the most traditional sit-down meals. Let's be honest here, can we resist such a decadent show? No, we can't.

The signature colour for last year was undoubtedly copper, inside and outside the wedding industry. That is not going to change in 2018 either. It's perfect when combined with greys, pale pinks and all other autumnal colours. As a new trend, copper will also be used with marble. Accents of pink gold will also become popular within centrepieces and table decor.  Minimalist and edgy (see what we did :) ?), geometric shapes are the perfect match for metallic colours and industrial looking venues.

On this note, flowers (or excess of them) don't fit the picture. A variety of foliage compositions hanging from ceilings and green garlands used as centrepieces are trendy this year. They fit most of the styles and themes and we personally love the minimalism accent they can bring.

Last but not least, a quick note regarding food choices. Again, the keywords for 2018 are: "unique, unusual, quirky and personal". If you have attended a wedding reception in the last couple of years, you have probably seen at least one of these: pie tables (or ladders, or buffets, or bookshelves or whatever whimsical piece of upcycled furniture you can think of), Prosecco vans,  sharing platters and so on. 2018 will see these on steroids. Themed meals will be a thing. Sushi, Indian, Spanish, Italian and so on will become more and more popular this and next year. From sit down meals to canapés, from night buffets to favours, international and unique will be the new statement. I personally always thought that pakoras and meatballs are just the perfect choices for canapés. And what do you think of french macarons? Aren't they just lush in clear plastic boxes and used as the classiest favours?
