While I’m no expert of the sport itself I’ve always been fascinated by the spirit of fair play between rugby players and fans. It doesn’t matter how tough the game was (and the tackles), at the end of the game they all go for a drink (and food) together.
In the past year, we catered twice for groups of rugby fans, and both times were amazing experiences! The most peculiar one was probably a team of accountants finishing their day early to have a rich office lunch together before heading off to the match, rigorously on foot (in the best Edinburgh tradition!). Well, I guess technically this was a pre-match party!
What if you don’t have the tickets or if you don’t like big crowds and you would rather watch the match on your own, enormous, flat screen TV? Well, we catered for someone like that too! We had 12 very pleased friends comfortably sitting on a sofa watching the match whilst sipping wine or beer, all while our waiting staff were quietly walking in and out of the room with trays of freshly made, hot canapés every 20 minutes and we finished spot on time with tiramisu shots! Before leaving we made sure the kitchen was sparklingly clean so that when the wives came back from their shopping trip they only found a hand-written thank you note and some nibbles for themselves.
We have food at our heart and we love to be crowd pleasers; so, if you are looking for something a bit quirky and different then please feel free to ask! We are currently working on some themed canapés that are just, well terrific!!!
